About us
The Mission
of Earthwise Productions, Inc.
is to increase awareness and involvement in enjoying and
safeguarding our environment, particularly among
underrepresented segments of America’s culturally
diverse population. By providing information about our
national parks and public lands in a uniquely relevant
manner, and linking urban communities to nearby nature
as well as the Great American Outdoors, we seek to
develop an enlightened citizenry that, in the words of
William Ashworth, “protects nothing and venerates
everything.”
We
provide a bridge for urban communities to access the
National Parks and public lands through:
Information
Our
periodical Pickup & GO! raises urban communities’
awareness of public lands and the benefits they offer,
including Recreation, Relaxation, Freedom and a
Spiritual Sense of Awe.
They provide little-known facts about the history and
contributions of African Americans and other people of
color to the development of America’s public lands
system. They promote the sense of harmony, peace and the
commonality of the human family that can be experienced
in the national parks, forests and wildlife refuges.
Consultation
Earthwise Productions, Inc., provides consulting
services to government agencies, environmental
non-profits and all who seek to make our public lands
better known and more accessible to urban communities
and communities of color, who pay taxes for these areas
but reap few benefits from them. We help to position the
issue so that it addresses the communities’ values and
concerns. Our clients have included: The EPA; the
Audubon Society and the South Florida Water Management
District.
Speaking Engagements
The principals of Earthwise Productions offer services
as Speakers and Facilitators around the issues of
Environment, National Parks, African Americans and
conservation.
Tours
We
develop and offer tours that showcase the most
superlative areas of the National Park System to
non-traditional users. Many people become avid park fans
and advocates of the public lands system.
